ABUTMENT
A component that connects the implant with the prosthesis and protrudes into the oral cavity.

BONE LEVEL IMPLANT
Implant where the connection between the implant and the abutment is placed at the level of the bone crest
BRIDGE
An appliance used to bridge the gap created by missing teeth by using one or more false teeth fixed to crowns anchored to tooth stumps or implants
BUSINESS COMBINATION
A transaction/event in which an acquirer obtains control of one or more businesses

SLA
refers to Straumann’s second-generation implant surface technology introduced in 1998, which – with the exception of SLActive – is the gold standard in terms of osseointegration time.
SLACTIVE
Straumann’s third-generation implant surface technology with extensive healing potential. It stands for high predictability and accelerated osseointegration. Recent studies show an outstanding clinical performance of SLActive® implants even in very challenging treatment protocols and patients with compromised health.
