Straumann met with Peter and Betty at Restorative Prosthetics this week to reflect on 10 years of Straumann® CARES® digital solutions. An original Straumann® CARES® Laboratory.
“Restorative Prosthetics Implant Centre is a name which clinicians have trusted for over 25 years. We have achieved a reputation for manufacturing dental restorations which are of the highest quality. Within this time we have seen dramatic changes to the methods of which dental implant restorations are being manufactured within our industry, namely due to the introduction of CAD/CAM technology.”
1. How long have you been involved in CAD/CAM solutions?
We have been involved with CAD/CAM for over 15 years, beginning with the launch of the Nobel Procera Piccolo unit. Although primitive compared to the technology available today, it enabled us to foresee the future role CAD/CAM technology would play within the dental industry.
We learnt early on that it was necessary to use a variety of systems in order to overcome issues such as angulation problems. Furthermore, all the systems had limitations in regards to the variety of products offered and so we integrated and used the Nobel Procera, 3M Espe Lava, Atlantis, and Straumann® CARES® CAD/CAM systems.
2. When did you integrate Straumann® CARES® Digital Solutions into your lab?
We have been using the Straumann system and manufacturing CARES® restorations for the last 10 years and over that time we have seen the ever increasing popularity and demand for CARES® restorations.
3. How has Straumann® CARES® Digital Solutions impacted your lab?
In the beginning we were using the Straumann® CARES® Visual CAD software to only design implant abutments . With the continued development and expansion of the Straumann system we are now able to offer our clients a full range of genuine products which include Variobases with coron cement on direct to fixture crowns, coron implant bridges, hybrid and zirconia restorations.
4. How well integrated is the Straumann software in your day-to-day laboratory?
The CARES ® Visual CAD design software is efficient to use because its interface is user friendly and easy to understand. The design process is methodical and makes sense.
5. Why Straumann® CARES® prosthetics?
We chose Straumann® CARES® prosthetics because of the wide range of digital solutions and options which they have that gives us the flexibility to produce great restorations with different combinations on different platforms. We use CARES® prosthetics because of high quality and precision in a reliable timeframe. The great price structure is very competitive for all CARES® products.
6. What benefits do Straumann® CARES® prosthetics have for you?
Straumann warranties their CAD/CAM original components. They are manufactured to the highest standards. The company offers strong service and customer support to both the technicians and clinicians who use their products. They are constantly developing new materials, products and solutions.
7. What do you think of the quality of Straumann® CARES® prosthetics?
As a laboratory which prides itself on manufacturing quality restorations, we have learnt to trust and depend on the consistently precise CARES® CAD/CAM implant components we receive from the Straumann company. The CARES® digital workflow has allowed us to offer a wide variety of restorative options at a reduced cost to our clinicians without compromising the quality of the restoration.
8. What CARES® Milling solutions do you use mostly? Why?
Restorative Prosthetics uses most types of implant solutions in all their materials for all their platforms. Using the milling system provides more productivity with less manual labour. Another reason we use these is they provide genuine solutions for Straumann implants and offers a variety of options.
9. Why partner with Straumann® CARES®?
Because it works and it works well!!!!
10. Why go Digital?
We went Digital because it is where the future is headed and we want to move with the times and not stand still. Digital helps run the laboratory more efficiently and profitably by allowing us to diagnose, treat, educate and communicate better.
